WNY Peace Center Staff Update

July 2010

The Peace Center is now without paid staff. Volunteers now man the office several times a week.

Due to the volunteer staff being what is is, phone calls to the Peace Center may take several days to return. If you need a quicker response, please email Charley@wnypeace.org. That email address is monitored several times a day.

Former Executive Director Elea Mihou-Fox (September 2007 - April 2010) has gone on to a better paying job with better benefits. Quondam Interim Executive Director Irene Morrison (April 2010 - June 2010) has gone on to a new life in California. We wish Elea and Irene every success.

Victoria Ross, WNY Peace Center's former Peaceful Conflict Resolution Coordinator (February 2008 - July 2010) is still available for Peaceful Conflict Resolution in Buffalo NY. She holds 3 advanced degrees, 2 official licenses/certifications (social work/clinical), speaks several languages and practiced peaceful conflict resolution in Africa, Europe and the U.S. Her phone number is 716 - 884 - 0582. Email: victoryross@verizon.net. And you can usually catch her at Buffalo's Women in Black Peace Vigil each Saturday, Elmwood Ave and Bidwell Ave., noon to 1 P.M.

The good news is that Vicki's work will continue. She again co-facilitated Camp Peaceprints which went wonderfully well, and is sponsored by the Sister Karen Center for Nonviolence. And it is likely that Vicki will be involved again with PeaceJam this fall. Good luck Vicki!
