Unity, Solidarity, and Peace – STARI (Stand Together Against Racism & Islamophobia)

Hi, Friends!

PLEASE JOIN US TODAY (Monday, April 18) at UNITY and SOLIDARITY PEACE RALLY – 5:30pm.  We’ll be meeting at Main & Marine, at least to start. Look for us in skyblue. Also, please wear skyblue in solidarity. (And/or come find us for same!)  Signs of calling for justice and peace are especially welcome.

A 4-mile march yesterdayday sponsored by Peaceful Protest (Facebook group) – went wonderfully well with about 100 chanting and spirited walkers.

  • We’ll have a Unity and Solidarity Peace Rally at 5:30pm on Monday, April 18, near Canalside. Drums and signs welcome. Also skyblue anything (with the One Blue Sky above us all, we follow the Afghan Peace Volunteers in wanting Peace under it!!! Go to the Afghan Peace Volunteers’ website at http://ourjourneytosmile.com/blog/)
  • Our message is Unity,  Solidarity, and Peace, as in the rally name, and our theme is the group name Stand Together Against Racism & Islamophobia (unityandsolidarity.org). We stand for justice, peace, and love, and against fear-, hate-, and war-mongering.
  • Many thanks to Ben and Nick of the Peaceful Protest Facebook group for organizing yesterday’s march – it went wonderfully well. You’ll likely find news coverage on all the major outlets.

Today’s Unity and Solidarity Peace Rally is convened by the WNY Peace Center, with cosponsoring community leaders such as Rev. George Nicholas of Concerned Clergy of WNY; Dr. Stan Bratton of the Network of Religious Communities; and various groups, including Young Black Democrats, Muslim Public Affair Council, Riverside-Salem UCC/DC, the Interfaith Peace Network, and many others. We’re very excited to welcome many Facebook groups as partners as well as Never Trump Buffalo Peace Rally, Peaceful Protest of Trump, and Buffalo Against Bigotry.

Please invite friends, and remember to take public transportation or carpool if at all possible. Go to Facebook: @NeverTrumpBuffaloPeace Rally for more info.

Hope to see you there!
