Hear our Interview with Dr. Michael Mann

Here’s your opportunity to hear – for the first time or again – our interview with Dr. Michael E. Mann!

Dr. Mann is was a key researcher in putting for the “hockey stick” graph that first clarified that global warming was happening. He and his group shared the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize with Al Gore, and he was named one of Bloomberg’s 50 most Influential People in the World in 2013. He spoke in DC in last week’s March for Science, and is one of the most important voices in working to counter climate catastrophe.

Dr. Mann was kind enough to join us on our radio show, Talking Peace with the WNY Peace Center, on 91.3FM, WBNY, on Monday April 24. To listen, click http://geographyplanning.buffalostate.edu/MichaelMann.m4

Hosts Avery Edwards and Vicki Ross; Weather Medic Jack Kanack, and Environmental Justice Taskforce Chair Charley Bowman were also on the show. We discussed the National Days of Action, Climate Change/Climate Catastrophe, Non-violent direct action, and the way our many issues are interconnected.

The show is Mondays, 1-3pm – please join us any week. To hear it, go to wnby.buffalostate.edu or http://tunein.com/radio/WBNY-913-s27549/.

Dr. Mann also spoke at our 4/29  People’s  Climate March, in solidarity with the climate marches taking place in DC and all over the country. Local leaders and youth also spoke. The more-than-500 who came out were energized by Dr. Mann’s words, as well as by the Indigenous traditions and statements shared by Maria Maybee and Agnes Williams, Seneca. Congressman Brian Higgins and other local activists also spoke. (See http://wnypeace.org/wp/2017/05/01/climatemarch-great-beautiful/ posting archived on this website.)
