Heating buildings by burning fossil fuels causes about 1/3 of the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions in NY State. There is no way NY will reach its GHG goals without a massive conversion of buildings to renewable heating.
In February, Governor Cuomo released an exciting Renewable Heating and Cooling Policy Framework along with a $1,500 per ton GHP rebate program that will provide an average rebate of $6,000 for homes that go geothermal for the next 2 years.
