Alliance of Families for Justice WNY Meeting (Zoom)
November 30, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm EST
FreeOn Zoom (Meeting ID: 987 4515 1102). The Alliance of Families for Justice (AFJ) is a non-profit organization based in Harlem, NY, founded by Soffiyah Elijah, a brilliant attorney, organizer, and activist who has been tirelessly working to represent political prisoners, advocate for prisoners’ rights, and develop meaningful relationships with the families of prisoners to ensure that they are cared for and empowered.
Nate Buckley and Dr. Dani Johnson are excited to help create and lead a chapter of AFJ here in western New York, in collaboration with Soffiyah. Here is the AFJ website for additional information: https://afj-ny.org/
Within our AFJ-Western New York chapter, our hope and our focus will be to provide spaces and opportunities for prisoners and their families to engage in some meaningful healing work and practices, offer support and outreach for prisoners and their families, and help them to heal in preparation for them to engage in and support some of the incredible campaign, strategy, and educational work being done here in Buffalo by some amazing organizations here in Buffalo and Western New York.
Please join us next Monday, November 30th as we discuss the inception of our AFJ-Western New York chapter, and ways that our organization can support and compliment the work you are already doing around supporting prisoners and their families.
Danielle Johnson is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.
