Valentine’s Day “Love” at Hancock Field, Syracuse (Drone Ops Ctr)
February 14, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm EST
In person in Syracuse. Please join in the Valentine’s Day “Love” event at Hancock Field, just outside Syracuse, NY, when drone operators of the 174th (drone) Attack Wing will be called on to consider that love is the path to peace and to stop drone killing. (The event may possibly be livestreamed on the WNY Peace Center Facebook page.)
TIMING:
Those attending are asked to gather at 12:15 pm at May Memorial Unitarian Universalist Society (MMUUS), 3800 East Genesee, Syracuse, 13214. At about 12:40 pm, the group will go to Hancock. This will be a non-arrest action and folks will be required to wear a mask and to socially distance. For information call: Rae Kramer at 315.445.2840 or John Amidon at 518.312.6442.
“We ask you to look deeply within. Is what you are doing to survive destroying your conscience and destroying the things you love?”
John Amidon, an artist who is experimenting with familiar symbols and metaphors, hopes his art will “convey peace messages and the very real possibility that peace is possible; that we can choose peace and end war”. He also created the last UDA event, “Alice’s Nightmare in Drone Land”, which coincided with Halloween, 2020.
