LASC’s February 2023 featured speaker will be Emma Marzec presenting on the Kino Border Initiative (Iniciativa Kino para la Frontera).

Emma Marzec, Emma Radel, & Julianna Falsone from Canisius College, did a project last summer with the Kino Border Initiative (KBI). KBI is a binational, inclusive Roman Catholic organization, inspired by the spirituality of the Jesuits and Missionaries of the Eucharist; locally rooted in Ambos Nogales on the Mexico- US border. Since 2009, KBI has worked at fostering bi-national solidarity  through humanitarian assistance, education and advocacy, on each side of the Mexico border in Nogales, Arizona and Nogales, Sonora, Mexico.
