Many thanks to all who came out today!! Some 500 braved ferocios winds to support women’s rights and to oppose all forms of oppression!!

Nya weh to Jocelyn Jones, Seneca! The Haudenausanee Thanksgiving address – ie, the Gnonyoh – was key to making the Women’s March – Buffalo/WNY be the special time it was.

Many thanks to our wonderful speakers who illumined and inspired us; to the beloved Drea D’Nur and the WNY Resistance Revival Chorus, who encourage and uplifted us.

We are also so grateful to our 70 committed cosponsors who publicized, supported, and who we’ll be working alongside all year long.

Thanks too to the Police and the City, who allowed us to move the rally to the City Hall steps – safety first!

Lastly, thanks to all who’ve come before, to those suffering in the intersection especially, and to those youth coming along to make it all happen! It will take all of use, and we’re doing it – together!!

Nya weh, Asanti, Sucran, Gracias, and Thanks to All!!

Friends,

Thank you to all who came out to the first Women’s March Forum and Discussion Thursday evening! Very powerful conversation and ways to move forward in the movement. We look forward to our next forum, and of course the Women’s March itself THIS WEEK! As well as the Poster/Sign-Making Party on Thursday. See list of Women’s March events below.

Thank you also to all who attended The Dooley’s fundraiser Friday night at Sportsmen’s Tavern!!! We are thankful to you and to The Dooley’s for their support of the WNY Peace Center, and to bringing peace to the world through song!

Upcoming Women’s March Events:
3/7 – 5:30-6:30pm, Poster/Sign-Making Party, WNY Peace Center, 1272 Delaware Avenue, Buffalo, NY. Parking and entrance at the back of the building. Materials and light refreshments provided.
3/10 – WOMEN’S MARCH!!! 3-4:30 pm. Gnohnyo (traditional indigenous blessing) at 2:45 pm. Niagara Square. Join us for the Women’s March!! After weather and permit changes, we will finally rally, and we will march!
3/13 – Women’s March/Women’s movement Forum and Discusson #2, Frank E. Merriweather Library, 1324 Jefferson Avenue, Buffalo, NY. Co-sponsored by We Are Women Warriors. As a note, we will observe International Women’s Day with a brief gathering at Niagara Square. This is not in place of the Women’s March! If there are people who are unable to join us on Sunday, or would like to join us both days, come on out, stand in solidarity with us and women across the entire world in honoring International Women’s Day. 4:15pm, Niagara Square. But we don’t want people to lose focus on the official Women’s March date, which is this Sunday, March 10 at 3pm!!

Many thanks, peace, solidarity, and yes – Love
