The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Ireland to the United Nations and the Middle East Treaty Organization (METO) are pleased to invite you to a side event on the fringes of the 2022 NPT Review Conference. This will be an opportunity to look at the developments with regards to the WMDFZ which include the results of the recent November Conference on the Zone in New York and the latest outcomes from the JCPOA talks in Vienna. Furthermore we will touch on the importance of negative security guarantees for the region. Relevant elements of METO’s latest Draft Treaty will also be presented.
