Roger Harris, a member of the Task Force on the Americas, will discuss the the rise of leftist governments in Latin America and the headwinds they face from the US and other, particularly Western, countries.

In Roger Harris’s varied career, he has been a political scientist, wildlife biologist, environmentalist, and a long-time activist from the 1960’s to the present. He has supported many justice and human rights initiatives, including as a member of the Task Force on the Americas and the SanctionsKill campaign. As a writer on Latin American politics, he is a frequent contributor to many publications, including CounterPunch and Popular Resistance.
