Standing Rock Runners/Message-Bearers

(At Burning Books, 420 Connecticut Ave, Buffalo). When Standing Rock members began their fight against the Dakota Access Pipeline Ladonna Tamakawastewin Allard offered her land for Sacred Stone Camp. It was decided that all efforts against the pipeline would be carried forth in prayer. On April 1, 2016 La Donna, asked Allen Flying By , a pipe carrier, to open the camp and clear the path with prayer. Emily Yellow Earrings,several of her grandchildren and other Standing Rock members were also in attendance. It was her grandchildren, Standing Rock and other Lakota youth that carried their message and petitions against the DAPL to Omaha and later to Washington, DC by running a relay over 2,000 miles. It was those youths that put forth the call to Stand with Standing Rock which over 300 indigenous nations including the Hodenoshonee, Allies and the world answered.
Allen, Emily, runners and other campers at Sacred Stone will be in Niagara Falls for the Native American Music Awards on Saturday October 14. They have agreed to speak to us at Burning Books on Sunday October 15th at 4pm. We heard the call of the young people of Standing Rock, now we have the opportunity to meet them. We’re told that Allen has a special message for us.
