World Says No to War on Yemen
January 21, 2021 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm EST
The shockingly under-reported war in Yemen has led to the death of 250,000 people and created the worst humanitarian crisis anywhere in the world according to the UN. They estimate that more than 24 million people in the country, which was already one of the poorest on the planet prior to the war, will need humanitarian assistance in 2021.
The war is led by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates ( AUE) has been waging war with the US supports against the Houthi rebels in Yemen. This results in major attacks and caused a huminatrian crisis in Yemen. Because of the fighting, over 85,000 children have died of starvation. Many more civilians — children and adults — have died from the effects of cholera and starvation.
This calls for ACTION. Western New York Peace Center wants to remind our followers about “World Says No to War on Yemen.” We are asking organizations to gather protests in town and cities nationwide. This is a situation that we can make a difference. There is action needed on Yemen and we are calling all people from all walks of life. We call on people around the world to protest the war on January 25, 2021, just days after the U.S. presidential inauguration and the day before Saudi Arabia’s ‘Davos in the Desert’ Future Investment Initiative.”
Over 230 organizations from 17 countries have signed up for a call to action against the war on Yemen so far, making this the biggest international anti-war co-ordination since the campaign against the Iraq war. Western New York Peace Center encourages you to support us in this crisis.
For the World Says No to War on Yemen Global Online Rally we have brought together a group of prominent voices from across the world to speak out against this utterly brutal war and call for its immediate end.
