Come to LASC’s September Peace Coffee House for a screening of ‘Boricua Soy Yo‘, a new documentary on Puerto Rican history and cultural identity, introduced by its director, Rocco Anastasio.
This is a new 90 minute documentary which explores Puerto Rican history, the island’s relationship and status with the United States, and the cultural identity of Puerto Ricans living on the mainland.

LASC’s February 2023 featured speaker will be Emma Marzec presenting on the Kino Border Initiative (Iniciativa Kino para la Frontera).
Emma Marzec, Emma Radel, & Julianna Falsone from Canisius College, did a project last summer with the Kino Border Initiative (KBI). KBI is a binational, inclusive Roman Catholic organization, inspired by the spirituality of the Jesuits and Missionaries of the Eucharist; locally rooted in Ambos Nogales on the Mexico- US border. Since 2009, KBI has worked at fostering bi-national solidarity through humanitarian assistance, education and advocacy, on each side of the Mexico border in Nogales, Arizona and Nogales, Sonora, Mexico.
