VOICE Buffalo & Jefferson Ave. monthly Peace Hub

Please join VOICE Buffalo & Jefferson Avenue for our monthly Peace Hub! During this time, we will facilitate a restorative dialogue in a space dedicated to addressing the impact of racialized criminalization of Black Brown community members in the City of Buffalo and beyond.

 

At the Jefferson Avenue Peace Hub, we strive to use Restorative Peace Circles as tools to create pathways towards healing from trauma related to violent and/or unjust interactions with law enforcement. Community engagement with police is addressed in conversations around how to repair harm, eliminate bias, and create equitable pathways to justice for historically disenfranchised communities

In this workshop, Citizen Action of NY explores the motivations and drivers of the criminal legal system, including policing and mass incarceration. We pay special attention to the institutional racism at the heart of the system that has been oppressing Black and brown people for centuries. With that understanding, we can begin to redefine safety in our lives and communities.
